Richard Manchester, Labour candidate for Tow Law

I have lived in Tow Law and Sunniside for most of my life, and it has been an incredible pleasure to serve as your Councillor for the past four years. I have worked with some incredible people, and together we have seen projects such as the play areas in Sunniside and the Millennium Green, two new public access defibrillators in Sunniside and Stanley Crook, a 20mph zone outside Stanley Crook Primary School, a new School Crossing Patrol in Tow Law and other improvements to road safety across our area. I was able to encourage Home Group to invest in Weardale Crescent and Coronation Avenue, rather than let the estates fall further into disrepair, and helped to fund the UK’s first Community Speedwatch van – among many other projects.

I care passionately about our town and all of our villages and I know there is much more that can be done. I’m a member of the Billy Row Community Association and Stanley Crook Village Hall committees, and a governor at Stanley Crook Primary and Tow Law Millennium Primary. If you are gracious enough to put your faith in me again, I look forward to continuing our work so we can ensure our communities are the best places to live and work in County Durham.
