My name is Mark Appleby, and I’m standing as your Labour candidate in Consett South.

I’m passionate about the area in which I live, but for the last 8 years we’ve had a councillor who has allowed the streets and roads around Moorside and the Grove to stagnate in a state of disrepair. Shops have closed, we lost a Post Office and there are barely any bus shelters. I want to change that to make sure our area reflects the amazing people that live here.

I will work with everyone, listen to everyone, and I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe in. When a ward like ours has such fixable issues, it’s hard to stay quiet! I’m looking forward to speaking to as many people as I can – working with people is what I do best!
