I hope you can remember me from the days when I was able to be very active on the District Council and Esh Parish Council. Following my work during the Miners’ Strike, I helped the community to rebuild itself.
My volunteering included the toddler groups, playgroups and youth clubs in Langley Park, Esh and Quebec. I have continued to be a school governor in Esh since 1974 and, as with everything else, I have done my best to help people to keep their community the best they want it to be.
I have previously worked as a land management adviser for Natural England, where I could apply my love of the environment and scientific knowledge for the benefit of our wonderful countryside. I was also the workplace rep for the Prospect trade union.
Now I have retired, I am hoping to be able to continue to help people in our area to make their community the place where they are happy and able to live the life they need.
I hope that I can count on your vote to elect me as your local representative on Durham County Council.
