Please come join local Consett branch members this coming Saturday (9th February) in helping gain more signatures for our petition.

As some members may be aware, the future of the services that currently located at Shotley Bridge Hospital will be soon be subject to public engagement and a formal consultation process by North Durham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

As a branch and local Labour Party, we want to make sure all services remain in the Consett area and have been campaigning for this in the last couple of months. Our petition, which will be presented to Parliament by our wonderful MP, Laura Pidcock, calls on the NHS and our local CCG to keep all the services we are used to at Shotley Bridge Hospital available in the Consett area. The petition currently has just over 900 signatures, however we want more!

If you have a spare half an hour or Saturday morning/early afternoon, please pop along to the constituency office between 9.45am and 10.45am where we will pair you up, give you a clipboard with petitions and a pen and send you off to one of our designated locations. We want to be at Blackhill park run, Tesco’s Consett, Blackhill shops, Consett Leisure Centre, Consett Rugby Club, Leadgate shops, Lanchester shops and the retail park in Consett.

If you are thinking about attending, please respond to this email so we have a rough guide to how many places we can cover. Our designated contact for the day is Paul Lamb, 07443894648.

We hope to see as many of you there as possible!
