Malcolm graduated from Lincoln University in 2002 and lived in Lincoln until 2005. He moved back to the North East and worked as a letting agent, then as a Parliamentary Assistant between 2010 and 2017. Malcolm served as a parish councillor in Lanchester between 2011 and 2013 and then as county councillor for Delves Lane since 2017. Malcolm is a professional photographer specialising in portraits, and property and has covered many weddings. He volunteers in local football as Assistant Secretary for Annfield Plain Football Club of the Wearside League and his main interests are sports, current affairs and photography.
